Commercial analyze



This is a commercial video which shows out how life is like when the earthquake happened in Sichuan, china. The author used lots of actual photos to compose this video; those pictures give reader a deep impression of the helpfulness and sadness.
This video starts with a clock, which reminds people when and where that does happen. Then, destroyed buildings and broken land lead readers to think how many houses have been collapses which lead into a further question how much it would cost to rebuild those buildings. After that, author continues shows the picture of people died in the earthquake. At that time author also added some descriptions from the news in different language, which means people from all over the world, are caring about this. This commercial helped people know more about the earthquake, the different expression of the people shows reader the painful of losing their relatives, the help from different people from different countries and the faith of fight with difficulties.
The audiences for this commercial are everyone in this world, the ordinary families made the video more pursuable and understandable. There love between husband and wife, parents with the children and friends exist everywhere in the world. Author used those normal and ordinary facts to make the connection more clear. In another word, the author lead his audience to think deeply how much pain and despair would those people suffers from losing their families and friends.

  1. You are on the right track here--you are breaking down the component parts of the video and showing how they fit together to give an impression. I think you should also explore how music, text, and images work together in the video--what if there was no music? What if there were no pictures but just the text? Also you might consider how different audiences might see this video. How would someone from China see it differently than an American?
