Response of Mother Tongue

Form the essay of Mother Tongue the writer told us some real stories about her mother who speaks "limited and broken language". As a Chinese America, her mother's speaks English with Chinese accent. which made her society status different from others. She feels hard to communicate with others, and also hard for her to express her ideas and imagination.
For my aspect, the culture and language has been the biggest obstacle for a second language learner to adapt into the new society. As an international student, sometimes I feel the same way what the writer's mother felt. All the strangeness, culture shock, or different ways of doing things drives me crazy, especially the first time when I was in United States which is 2 years ago. As I stayed here longer, I feel more comfortable than the first I got there. However, the English I spoke which is still very different from the native residents, I still feel like I am an outsider. The "limited and Broken English" made it hard to involve into this society.

Response of Challenging Theories of Knowledge

After I read the article the challenging theories of knowing, I understand that langrage has been taking an effective status in our society. Langrage it is a way of people to communicate with each other, and also the way of teaching, learning and understanding. Living in world, the only way of receive the news from all over the world is from langrage. Langrage has become the connection between individuals, society and nations. People exchange ideas, cultures and history through langrage. From the article, writing is a kind of langrage, and it is also the most powerful way of thinking and present one’s idea, thought and ideology. For myself, I learned from the writing resources, which leads me to think deeply about the ideas, methodologies of different views, and also gives me knowledge and knows the world better. I used the same way to connecting with different people, or present and share my prospect with others.
